December 6 - Bartók: Romanian Chrismas Carols

Today's tune is a little unusual! I had my Jolly Jones Duo partner Stephanie in mind when I was creating today's arrangement - we've both loved playing duets by this composer in the past, so I thought I'd add some more to our repertoire. Plus, she loves pieces that are a little more unconventional - it's a great counterpart to my unrelenting cheesiness!

Belá Bartók's "Romanian Christmas Carols" was originally a piano piece that he wrote based on traditional children's Christmas songs collected from a variety of Romanian villages. These twenty little songs make a great flute duet, especially if you're looking for something different for your holiday program!
