Niccolò Paganini (1782–1840) was an Italian violinist, violist, guitarist, and composer whose dazzling technique and magnetic stage presence earned him legendary status across Europe. Widely regarded as the first modern virtuoso, he revolutionized violin playing through unprecedented technical demands and theatrical flair, leaving a lasting impact on generations of performers and composers. His music continues to challenge and inspire musicians today. Composed between 1802 and 1817, his 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, Op. 1, remain some of the most technically demanding works in the violin repertoire. Caprice No. 4 in C Minor, with its dramatic character and rich harmonic texture built on double stops, is especially striking. This flute duet arrangement captures the intensity and intricacy of the original, offering a rewarding challenge for advanced players.
